Sketch, leading workplace furniture specialist, has appointed Chris Tye as Major Project Lead to strengthen its Sales Team.

A qualified mechanical production engineer, Chris Tye started in the furniture industry 21 years ago and has since held various positions as a product and client engagement expert at Knoll, Sedus and Insightful Environments. His clients have included BBC, KPMG, GSK and Google.

In his previous role, Chris was part of the team that took the business from £24 million to £31 million and secured high profile clients including 3M, OpenText, Cloudflare and Chubb.

Chris says: “I have moved to Sketch to help the team grow the business, I am delighted to join a company that puts the client at the heart of the sales process. Being part of a leading workplace specialist group that offers a breadth of services such as Design & Build and Workplace Consultancy as part of the overall client offering is truly appealing to me.”

“The furniture market in the UK has changed beyond recognition in the last 5 years. No longer can a furniture dealership be a pure procurement vehicle for a client. Workplaces are a living, breathing entity that should inspire, support and enable its occupants to be the best that they can be. It is our job as workspace consultants to guide our clients through the specification and design process to enable them to select the right solutions to ensure that their business attracts and retains the best talent.”

Susan Hann, MD of Sketch says:

“Chris has a huge amount of experience in helping clients undertake significant workplace projects.  He is a problem solver and drives service to provide exceptional customer outcomes.”
