Sketch donates furniture to Merville Barracks in Colchester

The Sketch team have once again been putting their values into action, showing their charitable side by donating furniture to a very worthy recipient.

Coinciding with Remembrance Sunday and the time of year we stop to appreciate the work our armed forces do, Sketch recently came to the help of the Education Centre based in the Merville Barracks in Colchester.

A request from the centre, which delivers a wide range of education and resettlement activities to soldiers and officers from all over the British Army, required furniture to help upgrade two welfare rooms used by soldiers and staff between lessons and activities. In their own words, the rooms were basic and uninspiring, and very much in need of modernisation.

Clive Lucking, CEO of Fourfront Group, of which Sketch is a part of, passed on the request to Sketch’s Head of Logistics, Ian Shepherd, who stepped forward to offer the donation of soft furniture, including task chairs, tables and lockers.

Ian said, “We are always delighted to help whenever we can, and the team were keen to provide the best for the centre.”

Following the delivery last month, staff at the barracks were delighted with the outcome.

Russ Underwood, Resettlement Warrant Officer, said: “Sketch have by far surpassed anything we could have wished for; it is outstanding. Sketch Studios have and will make such a positive and modern environment for our soldiers and officers to relax in, in between lessons and lectures.

“A sincere thank you for your time and help from Merville Barracks Education Centre and the whole of 16 Air Assault Brigade.”
