#SketchAtCDW17 Diary Day 1

CDW 2017 or “come-on down (town) week” started yesterday, the 23rd of May. Unlike previous years, when the first day is quieter with more chance to ease into it, this time around it’s all been happening from the very beginning.

The Scandinavian vibe that has been felt for a while now across the industry, is really coming into its own, with more British-built furniture brands allowing themselves to be influenced by it, which, in turn, spurs creativity.

As the Orangebox talk on ‘Smartworking’ rightly pointed out, millennials are the ones driving the trend of having more fluid, visual and tactile collaborative furniture and almost everything launched this year will be proof of that. From the very warm Lacey range from Davidson Highley or Frovi’s Scandi range, all the way through Friends & Founders planet-shaped rock base coffee table or +Halle’s very rare high Nest sofa, this year you will feel the need to touch everything more than ever before.

Be sure not to miss it because CDW17 is, if nothing else, a show of beautiful craftsmanship which will shape the way we work.
